What type of Wood for your Kitty Cabinet?
Classic American Oak wood is a timeless wood - it's popular and fits most furnishings.
Our personal favorite wood for a Litter Box Cabinet is maple. Maple is considered a "hardwood" and is 20 times harder than Pine! The wood grain in each type of wood is very distinct. The cabinet samples above shows the available stain options on Oak wood. The grain is very visible and that's what makes high-end furniture so special. Pine grain tends to be less grainy. And Maple is the very best. No matter which type of wood you select, you will be pleased with your Cat Litter Box Cabinet. You and your Cat will appreciate the luxury of a fine wood cabinet used for this Litter Box.
Available Finishes for this fine Cat Litter Box Cabinet
Color samples available, please contact us.
- Natual (see sample on the left, below)
- Java (see sample in the middle, below)
- Candlelight (see sample on the right, below)
- Unfinished - this option will allow you to apply the finish of your choice. We recommend this option only if you know how to treat wood and have prior experience working with wood.
Selecting the right finish for your Kitty Box might be difficult. To help you make a choice, below are sample Litter Box Cabinets displayed, showing each type of finish.
Free Upgrades for your Kitty Litter Box Cabinet!
These cabinet options are a "must-have" - yours for FREE:
- All litter box cabinets come with the "European" styled hidden hinges which are far superior (and more expensive) than standard ones. Our manufacturer for these hinges is Blum.
- The inside of the Litter Cabinet is lined with an extremely durable laminate. This option will take care of any 'mishaps' or 'aiming' problems and preserves your Cat Furniture at the same time.
- The entrance to the litter box is covered with a plastic flapper. This "flapper door" is almost air tight, prevents "litter tracking" and also keeps it litter inside instead of all over your home. The flapper can be easily removed (just in case your kitty doesn't like it).
- Once the cabinet doors are open, you can easily clean the Kitty Litter and the cabinet floor. No build-in sliding tray is in the way.
- We put a layer of plastic laminate (like Formica) on the bottom of every cabinet. It's very durable and easy to clean (although we can't think of any reason why you would clean the bottom of your cabinet). The laminate will help you move your Cat Furniture around without scratching your floors.

Shaker Style or Traditional Style?
Shaker Style refers to simple and functional furniture originally designed by an American religious group called the Shakers. The lines of this style of furniture are clean-cut, the surfaces are plain and flat, often with small square lines. The Shaker Style became known in the late 18th/early 19th century.

Traditional style furniture is, of course, the opposite. While still simple and functional, this style has rounded edges. Look at the wood panels surrounding the edges of the cabinet doors and you can see how round and smooth they are.

What is "REAL WOOD"?
According to the Unfinished Furniture Association, "real wood" furniture is made from solid wood and/or plywood. Absolutely no particle board is used in the manufacture of real wood furniture.
What is Plywood?
The term plywood refers to thin layers of solid wood glued together, with grains running at 90 degree angles. Because wood expands and contracts when humidity changes, warps and cracks can appear in read wood. Plywood is used because it expands and contracts (usually not visible to the average consumer's eye). If plywood is used, it is for sides and/or tops of furniture.
Plywood is NOT used in the production of our Cat Litter Box Cabinet.
What is Particle Board?
Particle is the lowest grade of fiberboard, which is a bond of wood chips and glue. Fiberboard comes in 3 density levels: High density, medium density (MDF), and low density (particle board).
Particle board is NOT used in the production of our Cat Litter Box Cabinet.
