If you buy a pet stroller online, we want to help you make the right buying decision. When buying online, you can't "test drive" your stroller in the store. You can't bring your pet and you can't jogg around the store. As with every product you buy online, you should obtain as much information about pet strollers as possible.
We hope that the buying information below will help you find a pet stroller at our online store that's right for you.
Size
Don't select the size of your pet stroller solely based on the weight of your pet. The maximum weight listed for each pet stroller means the weight that the frame of the stroller can hold. Measure the dimensions of your pet - better yet - cut a piece of paper the size of the internal dimensions of the stroller - then place your pet on it.
Your pet should be able to sit, lay and turn around comfortably.
Type of Stroller
Buy the Pet Stroller that matches your lifestyle. Where do you go with your pet? Are you going for a walk in the mall, a stroll down the street, a paved sidewalk or are you going for a 10K run?
Bigger wheels means a smoother ride. For fast running/jogging, pick the stroller with the biggest wheels for a smooth and comfortable ride. Bigger wheels means that the stroller has better shock absorbers.
If you are walking through the mall, smaller wheels will work just fine.
Weight Limits
The term 'for pets up to 20 lbs' means that the frame of the Dog or Cat Stroller can handle a total weight of 20 lbs. This means not only the weight of your dog, cat or other small "baby", but also the personal items that you place in the stroller such as your bag, water, food etc.
Help your Pet Adjust to Your New Stroller
Only put your pet in the pet stroller when you are taking him or her outside.
This will belp your pet recognize that the stroller is for outdoors only. Outdoors means fresh air, sun, wind and a change in scenery.Unfold the stroller and place some "treats" inside. This will help associates the pet stroller with a positive experience.
Give your pet a treat as a reward when you use the pet stroller the first few times.
Start out slow! Your first trip should be very short. Help your pet adjust to the stroller slowly.
